Did you know that American charities generate as much
as 6 billion dollars every year? Even a small charity like Hip-Hop Widows for
Gun Control pulled in several million in tax-deductible donations in 2007.
Charities connected to a major religion make even more!
You’re probably wondering: “But how can I make money
with a charity? I don’t even belong to a health club. I can’t make money with a
charity.” Well, yes, you can!
Starting a new charity is, in fact, a job for experts.
First of all, you need a meaningful cause. Hunger, housing, medical treatment,
human rights, animal rights, dyslexia, compulsive gambling, clubfoot, birth
defects (in America, Vietnam, Russia and elsewhere), tinnitus, they’re all
taken. The cause market is bursting at the seams.
Not quite. We’ve developed a whole new – and practically
bottomless – charity concept. We’re inviting you to get involved at the start
of a cause that will change the world, and make you rich!
What’s it all about? Good question. We call it: “Past
Relief”. On a first-come, first-served basis, we are prepared to license local
chapters of Past Relief (such as, Marietta Past Relief). Each of these chapters
will receive a start-up package, including key talking points and a “Tapping
Compassion” instructional video. Then you just hit the phones and start
collecting money – it’s that easy!
The idea is simple. Maybe you’ve heard about the
terrible situation in Darfur, or Chechnya, or Burma. These are tragic
situations, real humanitarian crises. Not surprisingly, each of them has at
least a half-dozen charities. Imagine the luckless charity telemarketer who
comes late to that feast. Slim pickings, indeed.
Have you heard of the sacking of Constantinople? What?,
you say. The siege of La Rochelle? Probably not. What about the Children’s
Crusade? No? How about the Spanish Inquisition? Does that ring a bell? What
about Moses leading the Jews in the wilderness? Ah, that you’ve heard of,
perhaps.
Each of these events involved devastation, destruction
and distress on a scale that make Darfur look like a tussle in the schoolyard.
Consider the children’s crusade. In 1212, thousands of wandering poor were
subjugated and killed, and their children sold into slavery. During the Siege
of Drogheda in 1649, troops massacred 3,500 people.
The fact is this: History is simply full of
atrocities. The list of causes turns out to be endless.
Together, we can offer every tax-paying citizen of
this great country the opportunity to make a difference in any number of
historical atrocities. And, together, we can get rich!
Here’s an example. You call the father who coaches
your kid’s soccer team and tell him that you know about a humanitarian
catastrophe in the Caribbean. He’ll probably be shocked. He might even tell you
his parents are vacationing on a cruise ship there right now.
You can tell him about the terrible outbreak of
small-pox, typhus, influenza and diptheria that has already killed over ten million
people throughout the Caribbean. You can tell him that the diseases were
carried by airborne vectors, like birds, and illegal immigrants. The great
thing is this: It’s all kind of true!
Then you explain that you’ve contacted him on behalf
of an organization that is committed to making a difference in this
humanitarian crisis: Past Relief! With a simple, monthly donation of 10
dollars, he can support us in our efforts to bring relief to this
epidemic-ravaged region. And for a one-time, tax-deductible donation of 300
dollars, he can sponsor a whole relief effort. Representatives of Past Relief will
travel immediately to the Caribbean to provide relief first-hand, in his name!
That’s just one of thousands of examples, and the list
is growing, thanks to the excellent historians working for Past Relief. By
combining in-depth historical study with the lingo of the modern-day mission
industry, we’re creating an unbeatable relief concept.
Moses leading the Jews through the wilderness? That’s
another example of internally displaced persons.
The Irish Potato Famine is a terrible physical hunger event
among destitute peoples.
The Plague? That’s a pan-regional vermin-borne
pandemic.
Some will ask what Past Relief plans to do in order to
make a difference. First of all, we bring attention to the problem. That’s half
the battle! Then we build a global resource network. We want to make a big
impact! Finally, we dispatch a relief team to the scene. We’re on location,
with food, drinks, medicines, advice, whatever’s necessary!
Won’t people wonder how Past Relief can make a
difference about something that happened centuries ago? Well, no! Not really!
Do you want to know a secret? Most people don’t know the Irish Potato Famine
ended in the mid-19th century. Or that the Titanic sank in 1912. Or
that Siena was besieged and massacred in 1260. Did you? Probably not. In fact,
most people are willing to believe that these events are still taking place, or
just happened. As far as they’re concerned, Napoleon’s still shelling Vienna,
Vikings patrol the Scottish coastline and Vandals are wreaking havoc on Rome
right now.
People are generous. When they hear about human rights
violations in Mexico, they’re not going to reach for the history book. No! They’ll
reach for the check-book!
So join us in the Past Relief team, and start making a
difference today! A difference you can feel in your pocket. There’s no reason
our war-torn, disaster-ridden and bloody past can’t be the way to your golden
future! Welcome to Past Relief!
